• Account Information: Email address, display name, and profile photo (optional) when you create an account via Firebase Authentication (Google, Apple, or Email/Password sign-in)
• Recipe Data: Custom recipes you create, including ingredients, steps, and any photos you upload
• Usage Data: Calculator interactions, recipe views, and feature usage (anonymous analytics)
• Device Information: Device type, operating system, and app version (for debugging and compatibility)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected data to:

• Provide Services: Sync your recipes across devices, enable community features, and personalize your experience
• Improve the Product: Analyze usage patterns to fix bugs and develop new features
• Send Notifications: Recipe completion alerts, community interactions (with your consent)
• Security: Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access

We do NOT sell your personal data to third parties.

Your data is stored securely on Google Cloud servers (Firebase). We implement:

• Regular security audits and updates

Data centers are located in the US and EU. While we take reasonable precautions, no system is 100% secure.

• Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data
• Export: Download your recipes in JSON format (coming soon)
• Opt-Out: Disable push notifications in Settings

7. Children's Privacy

Scoop Science is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us immediately.

8. International Users (GDPR)

If you're in the European Economic Area (EEA) or UK:

• Data processing is based on your consent (account creation) or legitimate interest (service improvement)
• You have the right to withdraw consent at any time
• You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
• Data transfers to the US are covered by Google's EU-US Data Privacy Framework

9. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:

• Personal data is deleted within 30 days
• Public community posts may be retained (anonymized)
• Backups are purged within 90 days

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Significant changes will be announced in-app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
